![]() As I mentioned in my previous post I have so many adventures with MakeUp Me and my family coming up I might need to go into hiding at the end. No I can't because adventures is what makes life living and doing makeup is a huge part of my adventures and it is worth every moment of exhausting, but, very much fun time. Just as 2020 started to approach I had some super exciting news. My brother asked his long term girlfriend to marry him. The family is wrapped to have her officially part of our family. Upon the news he announces they have chosen to be married in Vanuatu. I was so excited to hear of this then thought oh no can he be so kind to put it off for a year and not get married in 2020 as myself, my Aunt and my kids are all off to LA for a week. I wasn't the only one that requested that a few of his friends also did too. Obviously we all want to head over and join in the celebrations. My brother and his Fiance decided they couldn't wait 2 years to be married, fair enough it is a long time to wait. So the date has been set for 31st January 2020 with the location still Vanuatu. So the decision was made it wasn't looking good although my bother said he pay for me to attend and so did my Dad, I took my dad up on the offer and I will be leaving the kids at home. My gift to my brother is me doing the wedding party makeup. So MakeUp Me is off to Vanuatu for new years eve and some adventures. I can't wait to do my first overseas job even if its for a relative. They asked me instead of anyone else not even the resorts makeup artist. I can not wait to work with the bride to be and plan her entire look as well as the bridesmaids. Makeup for an overseas trip is going to take plenty of organising, thought and considerations of the environment we are heading too. It is wet season and this means high temps and high humidity. Big challenges thatch for sure. Along with kit travel and packing making sure nothing is lost or broken and fingers are crossed that the resorts power supply can handle my heat tools. I have looked it up their sockets are the same as Australia's which should mean my heat tools will work. My hairdryer is not friends of the states as discovered on my cruise adventure that is American owned. The other fantastic news is that The International Bikini Model Search is coming to Australia. Not only isit coming to Australia but its coming to my backyard right here in Newcastle. This means MakeUp Me will be rubbing shoulders with some amazing talent and performing makeup on some amazing well established models with the potential of some serious publication opportunities. January is going to be one awesome start to 2021 just like my January has this year. In the lead up to The IBMS I will be collaborating with Novacapture and their amazing upcoming photographers who are going to be bringing up their photography skills. Over the year I will be on set of some bikini, bouduaire and portrait shoots with local talent and agency represented. Look out for these images as the year progresses. Amongst all this I will be taking a week holiday with my sons to adventure overseas for our first trip. We are all so excited to be going on this adventure and can't wait will October be here already? I will be turning 40 this year and although I rather still be young I can look back at the last 10 years and feel I have achieved enough, seen a lot and most importantly grown as a person as an artist, and a mother. I can't wait to continue to share my adventures with you and all the makeup I get to do. If you wish to be apart of any adventure I have going on so far this year drop me a message and I can tell you how to get on board. MakeUp Me love to everyone. Jasmine xoxo

Happy New Year! We are just about to end the first month of the year and I have been hitting the ground running. With so many adventures planned already MakeUp Me is in for a fantastic year. So far this year I have done makeup for photography shoots with some stunning bikini models, clients, portrait models too. Bikini Model makeup is far different to other makeup and remembering that they are to be photographed as well, creates its own challenges. I love the creativity and challenges this style of makeup brings. The biggest challenge is creating beautiful makeup that is stunning through the camera lens while looking more natural and not over done, the less is more look whilst applying more makeup then you would to a client. I do love the makeup looks where they are a bit more dramatic. I can't wait to do the red lipstick with a more strong eye on a stunning model. Here are some of the images with the makeup I did for this shot event. With many photographers coming along the atmosphere was amazing. There is also a video that goes along with the event. you will see me blowing up the beach ball and applying makeup. A couple weeks later I got to work with more models and photographers in January with Models: Don, Jaslyn, Kimberly and Cheyenne. They are all different personalities, skin tones and looks. I love the verity models bring and the individual challenges, this brings to makeup. Making sure the foundation matches perfectly as the photograph will pick it up instantly, making sure the eye shadow is well blended and that the eyes pop as well. This next shoot took place at Newcastle Baths. Although we are right in the middle of summer we seem to have had a cold snap on shoot day. The models where as professional as always and took getting in the water the way any professional should. Wind caused some hair issues with getting in the way of makeup application but as always MakeUp Me faces challenges head on and delivers every time. Don arrived with makeup on miss understanding the conversation I had with all the models, just another challenge I took on the chin and got on with it. With limited time as we are racing against the sunset I removed the foundation and left the eye and lipstick creating a more dewy natural look to the skin, suited to photography. Here are the images taken by myself and other photographers. (so many haven't posted yet) Just this week I got to work on another shoot this time summer wear at the lake. The day again provided some challenges with 40+ degree Celsius day. I was happy to say my makeup didn't melt given I put it into a lunch box with ice bricks to prevent foundation, concealer, lipstick all from melting and separating. I also got to practice my photography skills again if you have yet to notice I have picked up a camera and wanting to learn how to take amazing images of my clients after my work is done didn't think I would love it so much that I want to take it further then just my clients. Here is some of the images myself and Steve Tyne have taken. Many others are yet to process their images. Hopefully I can update this post soon and add their images too. Outside of working with all these amazing models and photographers I have also worked with clients. Pokolbin adventures for weddings have been high on my list also. Before Christmas lots of wedding makeup too. It is the best feeling to help a bride feel relaxed and beautiful on her day!
With many adventures yet to come I will leave this here and do a new blog letting you all know where I will be and when so you can book me in too. MakeUp Me Love to you all Jasmine xo |
